Standard MRI protocols and exclusion criteria (implants, tattoos, cosmetics, claustrophobia, etc.) were used to ensure subjects’ safety and the quality of data. Individuals with hearing/visual impairment, a history of head injury or moderate and severe cognitive deficits (>21) on the mini-mental state examination (MMSE) [62] were also excluded from the study. Informed consent was obtained from the participants and the research protocol was approved by the Institutional Review Boards of both centers (IRB approval ID: SUNY–266893; NKI–212263).
