for REDCap in diverse scientific research domains, the platform is used at Vanderbilt and across REDCap Consortium partner institutions for many other use cases (Figure 4), including operational support, quality improvement projects, and even as a sub-component for larger systems and workflow architecture. For example, Vanderbilt’s IRB system uses REDCap as a central component for protocol submissions and our research data warehousing teams have built system exchange mechanisms allowing REDCap to serve as a final data delivery mechanism.
