A GWAS of alcohol consumption was performed excluding individuals who were identified as never drinkers. The genetic regions associated with alcohol consumption in current drinkers overlapped with those reported in the total sample with the exception of rs8012947 in the AT-rich interactive domain 4A (ARID4A) gene on chromosome 14 (Supplementary Table 2 and Supplementary Figure 11).
