Text

After regressing the effects of each family-level mediator, the reduction in R2 (childhood maltreatment–AAD correlation squared) ranged from essentially 0% (mother depression) to 2.3% (father antisocial characteristics). The goodness of fit of complete mediation models was evaluated using χ2 difference tests. Forcing the maltreatment–AAD correlation to 0 (testing complete mediation) substantially worsened the model fit for each variable, indicating that none of the family-level variables individually accounted for the entire maltreatment–AAD association.
