In total, we found 1,841 genes (hereby referred to as pleiotropic genes) that are shared in more than four psychiatric disorders (Supplementary Data 7). Notably, pleiotropic genes showed higher enrichment for genes mapped to pleiotropic cross-disorder GWS loci than those mapped to non-pleiotropic (disease-specific) GWS loci14 (Fig. 5a).
