In a subsequent multivariable model that treated parental history of mental problems as a four-factor categorical variable (both mother and father, mother but not father, father but not mother, neither), and that adjusted for multiple attempt history, SIQ-JR, CAFAS, and the parental history effect were significant when both mother and father were affected and when only the mother was affected (Table 3). Whether the parental history was binary or a four-category variable, no interactions between functional variables and parental history were significant. Additionally, no interactions between these variables and multiple attempt history were significant.
