Deterioration, current living situation, and marital status were not associated with comorbid diagnoses. For marital status binary logistic regression showed that gender was a significant predictor of marital status because females compared with males were more likely to be married (B=−1.104, Wald χ2=12.278, p<0.001, exp (B)=0.331) and SUD was not associated with marital status (p=0.198). In this model marital status was the dependent variable and “never married” was selected as the reference category with covariables being SUD and gender, with any SUD and male as predictor variables.
