In the Plains Indians, four SNPs: rs7728378, rs1875999, rs7704995 and rs1500, all in allelic identity and located within the haplotype block (Figure 2A), were significantly associated with alpha power (Table 4). The maximum effect size (converting back from log to absolute power) was 1.8. The significant association between rs7704995 genotype and alpha power (homozygote 11 vs homozygote 22, p = 0.007) was confirmed by the empirical p value derived from 10,000 simulations using SIMPED (p = 0.027).
