FHIT, the fragile histidine triad gene, plays a role in the cell cycle and metabolic processes, as well as in cation and metal binding. WDR7 (WD repeat domain 7), has a role in proteolysis, and has been associated with multiple sclerosis in another GWAS (Baranzini et al., 2009).
