While ethnicity proved to be an important element in these analyses, we were also concerned about the possible impact of sex on the results. Thus, 4-way analyses similar to those regarding ethnicity were performed regarding sex. Here, no significant within group effects were found for 4- or 3-way interactions (LR by education group by time). There were main between-group effects for LR [df=1,442] regarding: frequency (F=4.47, p<.05, np2= .01); usual quantity (F=13.95, p<.001, np2=.03); maximum quantity (F=16.57, p<.001, np2=.04); and 4+ drinks per occasion (F=15.47, p<.001,np2=.03), although no main between-group effects were seen for either sex or education group.
