Table 2 and Table 3 shows the results from regression analyses for chronic smokers and depressed smokers, respectively. With rare exception, the full model explained a significantly greater amount of variance than both the nicotine-applicable model and the negative-reinforcement model in smoking-related characteristics. However, the full model accounted for very little of the variance in these variables.
