However, after 30min of insulin injection, there was no significant difference in blood glucose reduction between the cyp2a5−/− mice and cyp2a5+/+ mice, either HFD-fed or CD-fed (Fig 1 E). After 2 h of insulin injection, while blood glucose remained reduced in CD-fed cyp2a5−/− mice, it started to recover in other three groups (Fig 1 E). Generally, CYP2A protects against HFD-induced dysfunction in lipid metabolism and glucose homeostasis, and HFD-induced obesity is protected by CYP2A.
