This test was adapted from a published protocol [56]. Mice were food-deprived 24 h before testing. On the day of testing, mice were habituated to the testing room for 2–3 h and were then placed into a plastic box (50 × 50 × 20 cm3) with bedding in a quiet room with dim lighting. A single pellet of food was placed in the center of the box. Then the mice were placed in the corner of the box and the latency to eat was scored for 10 min. After testing, the mice were put back to their home cage and the food intake was calculated at 5 min, 10 min, and 30 min.
