Although our primary analyses used overall latent externalizing factors, we were interested in whether the genotype-by-discipline interaction effect varied across time. Maternal reports were available for the broadest age range (6–17), so we conducted post-hoc analyses to test for GxE at each age (data not shown). The pattern of results suggested consistency of the gene-by-environment interaction effect across this age range. It is plausible that one would find enhanced or reduced effects of the interaction at other ages, and this would be interesting to explore in future research.
