The sample of European individuals used here was assembled and genotyped as part of the larger POPRES project7. Genotyping was carried out using the Affymetrix GeneChip Human Mapping 500K Array Set. No significant differentiation was observed between individuals collected and/or genotyped at different times (analysis of variance, ANOVA, P > 0.05).
