The average ethanol intakes in the present study (approximately 8 g/kg/day) were comparable to the daily intakes previous reported for adolescent P rats using the same binge-like drinking protocols (Bell et al., 2011). Blood ethanol levels (BELs) reported in this study (Bell et al., 2011) exceeded 80 mg% and approached 100 mg% on a daily basis, indicating that the adolescent P rats were attaining intoxicating blood ethanol levels on a daily basis.
