The mice were fasted for 6 h and then sacrificed by cervical dislocation after blood was collected via the retro-orbital venous sinus under anesthesia by inhalation of isoflurane. The livers were rapidly excised into fragments and washed with cold saline. One piece of liver tissue was put in neutral Formalin solution for paraffin bedding. The other liver tissue aliquots were stored at −80°C for assays.
