0.5 µl volume were delivered to each target coordinate (0.5 µl/1 min). Animals were removed from the stereotaxic instrument, and an intraperitoneal injection (ip) of buprenorphine (0.03 mg/kg) was administered as an analgesic medication. Topical triple antibiotic ointment was applied to the incision site to prevent infection. During recovery, animals were placed on a heating pad and monitored until recovery of motor function.
