The research protocol, including informed consent procedures, received full ethical review and approval from the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. This analysis is based on a subsample of respondents who had consumed at least one drink in the year preceding the Wave 1 interview (n=26,946).
