We sampled cells without selection, except in the intestine, where we isolated neural-crest-derived cells (enteric nervous system) by FACS in Wnt1-Cre;R26Tomato transgenic mice. In the hippocampus and cortex we obtained additional inhibitory neurons by fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) from the vGat-Cre;TdTomato strain. We used at least two mice for each tissue, typically one male and one female, and analyzed a total of 133 samples (Table S1) by droplet microfluidics (10X Genomics Chromium) to reveal the transcriptomes of 509,876 cells.
