The asymptote lines of the analyses in retrospect based on 20 publication years showed that the association signal of the polymorphism has tended to be stable in the Asian populations. However, the results revealed a slight decrease on the effect size in all the combined studies in recent years, which implied that more non-Asian replication studies may be still necessary. The results of the allelic analysis, dominant model, and recessive model are shown for all the studies in Figures 4, and supplementary Figures 7 and 8, respectively. Those of the Asian populations are shown in supplementary Figures 9–11, respectively.
