SEMA3C is one of the cell adhesion molecules that has been implicated in development of dopaminergic projections [197]. SEMA3C and its neuropilin 2 receptor are regulated by neuronal injury [198]. Significant levels of SEMA3C expression in hippocampus and connected regions, such as the medial septal nucleus, provide a good rationale for involvement in memory-related phenotypes [199].
