In addition, we calculated SNR in the MRIs for each registration approach and found adequate SNR for each method that was not related to age or sex. The sequential registration approach could also apply to functional studies, which require registration across image modalities within subjects and to standard spatial coordinate systems (i.e., atlases) as well as accounting for developmental changes in structure (cf., Poldrack, 2010).
