mothers, 266 (92.4%) from the biological mothers themselves and an additional 22 retrospective assessments from kin collaborator reports. The final cohort of 288 represent 43.9% of the original recruitment cohort of 656, 51.8% of the 556 subjects completing initial testing at age 7 years, and 66.7% of the 432 subjects completing follow-up testing at age 14 years. In addition to the previously noted child deaths, 18 mothers were deceased by the age 14 exam. Maternal and kin reports were included in the analyses. There were 5 biological mothers who, although not the current primary caregiver, provided 14-year retrospective data.
