Mice were fasted for 16 hours. Blood glucose levels were measured before (0) and 15, 30, 60 and 120 min following the IP administration of dextrose (2 g/kg body mass), as described above. GraphPad Prism 5 (La Jolla, CA) was used to determine the area under the curve (AUC) by plotting each individual animal, setting the baseline to the glucose level at the zero time point.
