The potential contributions of the full range of LR measures are consistent with a recent paper recommending that investigators searching for genes that might contribute to LR should evaluate each measure separately before making a decision to include all measures in a single genetic analysis (Schuckit, 2018). The results also call for further research to evaluate whether different LR measures are optimal for predicting different outcomes such as binge drinking, medical consequences of heavier drinking, or different patterns of psychological problems.
