Studies used different inclusion criteria; these are summarized under the column headed phenotype where RMD is recurrent major depression, MD is major depression, BPD is bipolar disease. Where provided, the numbers of each phenotypic category are listed. The table gives the acronym of the clinical instrument used, the peak marker, and associated LOD score for nonparametric linkage (some studies also report parametric results [Schol-Gelok et al., 2010]), without added covariates. In cases where a significant sex difference was found, this is reported in the column headed Sex.
