and executive function define particular clinical profiles of OCD, then therapies targeting specific circuits and corresponding clinical profiles could be developed. Since OCD phenotypes involve overlapping circuits, we speculate that successful treatment of OCD will necessitate addressing multiple circuits, according to the clinical profile. Given that some of these clinical profiles are seen in other disorders (e.g., sensory phenomena in tic disorders), once specific circuit-based treatment approaches are better established they could also be used to treat these clinical profiles across diagnoses rather than within a single categorical diagnosis [192].
