a high lifetime prevalence of AUD found that in men, childhood physical abuse and CSA was associated with an increased risk of AUD whereas for women, all forms of abuse and neglect increased the risk of AUD .15 In this study, 29% of men had experienced 4 or 5 childhood trauma categories and these individuals had a 3 fold greater risk of AUD; 35% of women had experienced 4 or 5 childhood trauma categories and had a 7 fold greater risk of AUD.
