genetic variants (SNPs) from a number of genes associated with neurophysiological functions and the measures of the power of theta EROs are studied using the same data set and similar methodologies. Since measures of the P3 response have been found to be useful endophenotypes for the study of substance use disorders (Euser et al., 2012; Iacono and Malone, 2011; Rangaswamy and Porjesz, 2008), externalizing psychopathology (Gilmore et al., 2012), schizophrenia (Decoster et al., 2012; Johannesen et al., 2013), and ADHD (Szuromi et al., 2011), and is highly heritable (van Beijsterveldt and van Baal, 2002), studies of P3 development in adolescents and young adults may illuminate neurophysiological and neuroanatomical factors contributing to the onset of these conditions.
