In such a way, all the computations can be reduced basically to a sequence of matrices multiplication. We have verified that this processing chain requires less than 3 second on a standard single-processor computer, which makes the whole process sufficiently fast to be performed on-line according to the timing proposed in the study. In addition, the multi-layer perceptron classification can be performed in real time, since it only requires few milliseconds (see Methods S2 for details).
