rs9471290 had an OR of 1.49 (1.28–1.73) and a P-value of 2.9 × 10−7. A post hoc replication analysis of rs4714329 in the female sample (N cases=32, N controls=2179) revealed an OR of 2.55 (1.50–4.33) and a P-value of 5.3 × 10−4. Thus, we detected a replication with two variants at 6p21.2, the most robust finding with rs4714329 reaching genome-wide significance (P=1.6 × 10−9 in the meta-analysis), although there was evidence that variants on 6p21.32 were weaker according to the replication study.
