Neither of the main effects for the two genotype classifications (5HTTLPR and 5HTTLPR + rs25531) are associated with any of the outcomes (ClinDep, suicidality or SelfRepDep), irrespective of the mode of gene action (additive or dominant) or method of analysis (IRT or ordinal regression). The two exceptions (nominal P< 0.05), the additive and dominant models of 5HTTLPR + rs25531 for SelfRepDep when run with the IRT analyses, are in the opposite direction to that expected (less depression with each additional S allele) and amount to little given multiple testing.
