An interesting submodel corresponds to fij = f, and is known as the inbreeding model because all pairs of allele frequencies are assumed to be equally perturbed. Under this model: pii=pi2+pi(1−pi)f, pij=2pipj(1−f), and −pmin1−pmin≤f≤1, where pmin is the minimum of the allele frequencies. Under HWE the multinomial likelihood (2) takes the form (3)Pr(n∣p)=∑i=1,j>iknij2n!∏i,j=1,j≥iknij!∏i=1kpi2nii+∑j>inij.
