The MASQ-AA (Watson et al., 1995) is a well-validated 17-item self-report measure of hyperarousal and somatic symptoms primarily associated with anxiety (i.e., symptoms that are highly distinct to anxiety). Items are rated on a 5-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (not at all) to 5 (extremely), and higher sum scores indicate higher levels of anxiety symptoms experienced during the past week.
