The diagnoses, dataset names, ethnicities, designs, sex and age structures, average ages and sample sizes of a total of 21 cohorts are shown in Table S13. More detailed demographic information including dbGaP accession numbers and genotyping platforms for those non-alcoholism diseases is also available elsewhere (Zuo et al., 2013). These subjects were genotyped on ILLUMINA, AFFYMETRIX or PERLEGEN microarray beadchip platforms (Zuo et al., 2013). All subjects gave written informed consent to participating in protocols approved by the relevant institutional review boards (IRBs). All subjects were de-identified in this study that was approved by Yale IRB.
