For the analyses of concomitant alcohol and tobacco use, having a biological parent with an alcohol problem was associated significantly with increased likelihood of use of tobacco only (OR = 4.58, 95% CI = 2.80–7.48), use of alcohol only (OR = 2.10, 95% CI = 1.65–2.68) and use of both (OR = 3.96, 95% CI = 3.04–5.17) by adolescents, when compared to non-users.
