the D1 MSNs is significantly longer than that of the D2 MSNs (P = 0.0089). The dendritic arborization of the D1/D2 MSNs is significantly less profuse than that of the D1 and D2 MSNs, as indicated by a smaller number of dendritic branching points (9.5 ± 0.8 branching points) compared to the D1 (16.6 ± 1.5 branching points, P = 0.0015) and the D2 MSNs (15.0 ± 1.4 branching points, P = 0.0087, Fig. 5b).
