We assessed rs910083 for association with lung cancer using a GWAS meta-analysis of EUR studies from TRICL-ILCCO39 (N=27,349 cases and 54,472 controls, Supplementary Table 7). Rs910083-C is significantly associated with increased risk of squamous cell carcinoma (N=6,937 cases and 53,649 controls, meta-analysis P=0.0095 and OR [95% CI]=1.05 [1.01–1.09]), consistent with the increased nicotine dependence risk. Rs910083 is not associated with adenocarcinoma.
