Chunk #3 — METHODS — Measures — Age at first drink

Source
Age at first drink and the first incidence of adult-onset DSM-IV alcohol use disorders.
Embedded
yes

Text

AFD was determined by asking respondents how old they were when they first started drinking, not counting small tastes or sips. Because it was highly skewed, AFD was examined as a categorical variable, with ages <15 and 15-17 years compared to ages 18 years or older.
