source of the interaction; (3) finally, because our research question relates to neuropsychological function of alcohol-exposed children compared to other non-exposed groups, if the source of the interaction was a difference between AE groups, they would be compared independently to non-exposed groups (AE+ vs. ADHD, AE− vs. ADHD, AE+− vs. CON, AE− vs. CON); alternatively, if there was no significant difference between the AE groups, they would be combined (AE+/−) and compared to non-exposed groups (AE+/− vs. ADHD, AE+/− vs. CON). These comparisons would utilize a Bonferroni correction at α =.05/total number of planned contrasts) to control for Type I error. Marginal significance would be defined as p < .05 for the contrasts.
