The decreases in hepatocyte lipid droplets, adiposity and serum glucose in 36 week Cyp1b1-ko female mice, compared to WT counterparts, were similar to those seen in males at 11 weeks. Nevertheless, Cyp1b1 deletion mediated substantially fewer gene expression changes on the LFD in these females. On the other hand almost 60 percent retained their responses to Cyp1b1 deletion in both genders when fed the HFD (CD36, serpina7, Lgals, Ms4a7) (Tables 2 and 3). We have focused our analyses on genes that are conserved between the male and female animals as they are more likely to be linked to core Cyp1b1 regulation of energy homeostasis.
