A total of 13 deaths were reported: one from the combined disulfiram groups [40], six from the control groups [38], [40], and six unspecified. Laaksonen et al and Petrakis et al stated that these deaths were not related to their studies. In one large study (n = 605), six deaths were reported, but the authors did not specify if these deaths were from the disulfiram group or the control group [27].
