The gene responses to Cyp1b1 deletion were distinguished by being largely independent of the diet change (122) or preferentially observed on the HFD (94) or LFD (326), respectively. Approximately a quarter of this final group of genes (75) comprises most of the genes for which the effect of Cyp1b1 deletion mimics the effect of the change to HFD in the WT animals. An additional 18 genes that responded to the HFD in the WT mice responded in the opposing direction (with equal magnitude) in the Cyp1b1-ko mice.
