Independent t- or χ2-tests were used to examine group differences; Fisher’s exact test was used for contingency tables with cell sizes less than 5. Response time (RT) and success rate for each incentive condition were normally distributed (KS test, p’s>.17). Repeated-measures analyses of variance (ANOVAs) were conducted for RT and success rate, separately, assessing performance differences between groups: valence (win/loss) x amount ($0.20/$5). Post-hoc t-tests were used to determine sources of significant differences. Pearson correlation was used to evaluate the relationship between sensation-seeking and drinking volume.
