Text

The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) has collected the results of published GWA studies in a publicly available online database (http://www.genome.gov/gwastudies) [16]. This catalog is continually updated; the version we utilize for the present study was downloaded on June 29, 2009. We used the NHGRI default set of SNPs reported to be associated to complex traits with a p-value of at least 10−5 for all figures and tables in the manuscript, but we note that results show more significant enrichment for more stringent definitions for trait-associated SNPs (we tested 10−5 through 10−8).
