History of marriage frequencies was essentially the same for women with and without a history of SUD (38.5% of DD women, 39.4% of SC only women). For men, those with a history of DD had higher frequencies of ever having been married (22.1% of DD men had been married, versus 13.9% of SC only men). The variable “ever married” included those who were married, separated, divorced or widowed. Rates of ever marrying were higher for women than for men, regardless of SUD comorbidity history.
