Microstate occurrence ranged between 3.37 and 4.51 microstates/second. The ANOVA showed no main group effect, but a significant interaction between group and microstate class (F = 7.10; df = 3,108; p<.0.01). This was because microstates of class C were significantly less frequent in patients compared to controls (t = -2.58, df = 34, p = .015) (Table 2, Fig 2B).
