Text

the results of the current study we observe that different cortical and subcortical regions are involved in encoding different aspects of substance craving. The incentive salience encoded by the dACC is characteristic of “give me more”, which is not suppressed by the dysfunctional pgACC suppression mechanism59,60. The result is the positive reinforcement of a feeling of arousal and reward towards alcohol encoded by the limbic structures and OFC.
