We detected positive genetic correlations between AUDIT scores (AUDIT total, AUDIT-C, AUDIT-P) and other substance use phenotypes, including lifetime smoking (rg = 0.24–0.41, p < 1.6 × 10−5) and cannabis use (rg = 0.26–0.46, p < 1.1 × 10−4). We also observed a positive genetic correlation between AUDIT-P and cigarettes per day (rg = 0.28, p = 4.0 × 10−3).
